Mercedes-Benz at the Poznań Motor Show 2017
The leading theme of Mercedes-Benz’s presence at this year’s Poznań Motor Show was the 50th anniversary of the AMG brand. Three new models from Mercedes’ AMG sports range had their Polish debuts at the Show: the AMG GT R (“Beast of the Green Hell”), the open-top AMG GT C Roadster and the AMG GT3 race car. Joining the three AMG cars was the E 63 S 4MATIC+ – the fastest executive saloon in its class. The brand’s proud history was on display with the legendary 300 SEL and the 300 CE HAMMER models.
One year after an autonomously driven E-Class car made its official entry onto the Poznań International Fair grounds, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the complete E-Class family: sedan, station wagon, coupe, the All-Terrain and a Cabriolet. Another significant introduction was the second generation of the compact GLA SUV, which is one of the most popular Mercedes-Benz products on the Polish market. The show also saw the Polish-market launch of the Marco Polo HORIZON, one of three V-Class based campers offered by Mercedes-Benz.
Mercedes-Benz’s presentation not only reflected the brand’s history and its current models but also detailed the company’s vision for the future of the automotive industry. The show marked the first time that Mercedes-Benz presented its Concept Car prototype in Poland – the vehicle will serve as the basis for new generations of cars now under development.
The Company’s presence at the Motor Show was completed by 30 additional vehicles from the Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG brands, ranging from compact cars to C-Class and E-Class models, as well as SUVs (including the legendary G-Class vehicles). Concurrently, the official Antique Mercedes Club (KZM) presented four classic Mercedes models. In addition to the extensive indoor display, Motor Show guests were able to enjoy a wide range of outdoor attractions. A purpose-designed outdoor track gave visitors a chance to test their driving skills and experience the impressive maneuverability offered by the company’s Smart Fortwo and Forfour models. Fans of cutting-edge technologies had a chance to take part in a presentation of the smartphone-driven autonomous parking feature offered by E-Class cars. While children were able to learn about the basics of safe automobile travel while playing in a dedicated Safety Town environment.
