Development driven by science
The Lower Silesian Science Festival is an annual event organized in autumn by universities, science institutes and various institutions from Wrocław. It is dedicated to anyone who is interested in science that surrounds us. Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland couldn’t miss it. Experts from the company presented the way science has been changing the automotive industry and how the automotive industry is changing our lives.
On the 28th of September, during Technology and Automotive Day, in the courtyard of the Wrocław University of Technology in Legnica, MBMPL was present with a theme “Development driven by science” presenting innovations by Mercedes which changed the automotive industry. Among the most revolutionary inventions were the first petrol engine called “The Grandfather clock”, Benz Patent motorcar, ABS, ESP and airbag. The visitors could also learn about the safety systems Intelligent Drive, such as Blind Spot Assist, Parking Guidance PARKTRONIC, Traffic Sign Assist, intelligent voice control system “Hey Mercedes” or Drive Pilot. These and many more are used in the Mercedes-Benz cars to make driving much more comfortable and safe – especially in case of dangerous situations on the road – to save health and lives.
Another attraction prepared by the company were lectures. Ludwig Franz Pak presented state-of-the-art solutions of Industry 4.0 which will be implemented in the engine plant in Jawor. Kaja Wróblewska, on the other hand, talked about the way Daimler changed the automotive industry over the 130 years – from the invention of a car to the autonomous mobility.
All the attractions caused a lot of interest. The visitors were particularly curious about the classic and new Mercedes-Benz cars: GLC Coupe, GLE Coupe, GLE SUV, X-Class, S-Class Limousine, A-Class and E-Class or the KUKA robot, a simulator of cooperation between robotics and the CNC machine.
During the whole day, the Information Point was open, so the visitors had a chance to learn more about the engine plant in Jawor or talk with specialists from HR department and Randstad about job opportunities in the factory.
