The Mercedes factory in Jawor has always supported education in the region and cares deeply about developing the professions of the future. The European Secondary School in Legnica has joined the group of Mercedes factory sponsored classes. On March 9, 2022, a letter of intent concerning this matter was signed by: President of the Management Board of DPFA EUROPRYMUS – Katarzyna Hübner, CEO of MBMPL – Dr. Andreas Schenkel and CFO of MBMPL – Aleksandra Łukasiak. This is the first school entirely under the patronage of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland. The high school offers 3 teaching profiles: Polytechnic, Humanities and Law, and Biology and Sports, as well as extended learning of the English and German languages. In addition, students who choose the polytechnic profile will be able to participate in workshops organized by the Mercedes factory in Jawor. They will be invited on a thematic tour of the plant and will have the opportunity to practice in the production and administration departments. The European Secondary School will support students in choosing their studies in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland, while the completion of such studies will give graduates the opportunity to work in the factory in Jawor.
Currently, there are 2 MBMPL supported classes: Mechatronics at the District Centre for Vocational and Continuing Education in Jawor (since September 2019) and Electromechanics at the Automotive School Complex in Legnica (since September 2021). The factory has been supporting the development of girls from high schools and vocational education institutes from the Jawor district in the field of technical sciences and soft skills throughout the past four years by offering a six-month program entitled “Girls Go Technology, or Girls Get Used to Technology”.
