In the eighth edition of the competition, the Factory of the Year, organized by the magazines Engineering and Maintenance and Control Engineering Poland, Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland in Jawor won in three categories: Innovative Factory, Best Factory in the Automotive Industry and in the Green Factory category (ex aequo with Famed Żywiec Factory). The Factory of the Year competition promotes production plants that are leaders in introducing the most modern solutions and technologies in Poland, in such areas as: production automation, maintenance, IT systems supporting production, Industry 4.0 and ecology.
– Awards for our factory prove that it is possible to build a factory in Poland based on the highest world standards. We have opted for technologies that optimize operational efficiency, and at the same time allow us to maintain product quality, employee safety and are environmentally friendly, i.e. CO2-neutral. Factory in Jawor is the first in the Mercedes-Benz production network (and the first in Poland) driven entirely by renewable energy – said Ewa Łabno-Falęcka, who received the awards during a gala ceremony.
Factory in Jawor won first place in three categories – Innovative Factory, where unique ways of using the latest technologies in operational processes are distinguished and production; in the Automotive Industry category, evaluating automotive manufacturers and the Green Factory category, in which companies implementing environmentally friendly solutions are appreciated including in the areas of energy efficiency and waste management.
For this year’s edition of the Factory of the Year competition, 60 factories were submitted, which an independent jury evaluated in 18 categories. The results of the plebiscite were announced on December 4, 2019, during a ceremonial gala in Warsaw.
