In terms of sales, 2019 was the ninth record year for Mercedes-Benz in a row – the manufacturer delivered 2,339,562 cars worldwide at that time, achieving 1.3% growth. At the same time, for the fourth time in a row, it has taken the leading position among the luxury car brands. In all three main sales markets – China, Germany and the USA – the brand has outperformed the high delivery levels of the previous year. China, the largest single Mercedes-Benz market, remained the main driver of growth, with 693,443 units, an increase of 6.2% y/y and a new annual record. Last year’s model offensive, which included more than 10 new or upgraded models in total, led to a significant increase in unit sales, especially of compact cars and SUVs, and contributed to overall sales growth.
