Mini-drone through the interiors of the Mercedes-Benz Museum

Fly through the raised door of the legendary 300 SL “Gullwing”? Or a visit to the cabin of the Mercedes-Benz LO 1112 bus from Argentina?

This was the idea of the Mercedes-Benz Museum team and filmmaker Daniel Wagner and Adre Jung from minidrone.studio, when the museum was closed to visitors due to the coronavirus. Palm-sized mini-drones can pass through small spaces, e.g. through the open doors of classic Mercedes cars, and show vehicles both from the outside and inside.

Given the unique value of museum exhibits, such a flight required not only courage but also a lot of experience and precision.

Interestingly, the mini-drones used to make these shots are not available for sale – “We’ve modified them to meet our needs, using different components”, says Daniel Wagner, one of the film’s authors.

We invite you to an unusual tour of the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.
