Students at schools in Męcinka have the opportunity to learn German from a unique teacher: Mrs. Melanie Schenkel, wife of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland CEO dr Andreas Schenkel. The once a month German classes began during the previous school year and are an example of the company`s involvment in the local community.

Mrs. Schenkel`s lessons are different from regular foreign language classes, giving grade 2 and 3 students the opportunity to take part in conversations with native speaker and learn about German culture. Recent topics included lessons on the life and times of prominent Gearman poets. Mrs. Schenkel says that the students are making steady improvements in their German language skills each class.
