Refuse / Reduce / Re-use / Recycle / Rot. These are the 5 principles of the Zero Waste idea and topic of this year’s ‘Eco Gwiazda / Jawor edition’ competition. Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland invites secondary school students from the Jawor, Legnica, Świdnica and Wałbrzych districts to cooperate in environmental protection. Valuable rewards await!
For the third time, Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland invites students from all the secondary schools in Jawor, Legnica, Świdnica and Wałbrzych (a total of 10 schools) to participate in the competition promoting pro-ecological attitudes. This year’s edition, the participants’ task is to make a short film, without leaving home, about how they deal with garbage to take care of the environment.
Daimler AG’s ambition is the neutrality of the entire fleet and production plants in terms of CO2 emissions by 2039. This is a very ambitious goal. The factory in Jawor is emission-free today.
“Living and working in Lower Silesia, we feel responsible for the entire region. The Eco-Gwiazda Competition / Jawor edition is to instill in young people an attitude that protects resources and the environment” says Dr. Andreas Schenkel, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland.
This is the third edition of the competition. The previous ones concerned, among others, air quality and daily small activities that have an impact on the state of the environment.
The deadline for submitting applications is 4 June 2020. The competition entries should be ready by 11 June. The jury consisting of dr. Andreas Schenkel, Thomas Kaiser and Marlena Biadała-Domino will choose the best film promoting the behavior of Zero Waste. The winner will receive a MacBook Air 13 “. All finalists will also be awarded.
