The 3rd edition of the ecological competition Eko Gwiazda/Jawor has been concluded. The jury assessed the work of students from secondary schools in Jawor, Legnica, Świdnica and Wałbrzych and selected the winner.
During this year’s edition of the competition, participants recorded short films in which they explained how they handled garbage on a daily basis and how they applied the five basic principles of the “Zero Waste” idea. Over a dozen teams from 10 schools in Jawor, Legnica, Świdnica and Wałbrzych entered the competition. All the works creatively paid attention to the state of the environment and presented appropriate ways of dealing with rubbish.
“We are pleased that you are aware of the responsibility for resources and the environment,” quoted Dr. Andreas Schenkel, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland, as he announced the winners.
The first place prize was a MacBook Air 13.3 “for the winning student and an Apple Ipad 10.2 for the teacher-guardian. All finalists were also awarded.
The Eko Gwiazda competition/Jawor edition was covered by the Honorary Patronage of the local government office, Mrs. Aneta Kucharzyk
The jury consisted of: Dr. Andreas Schenkel, Thomas Kaiser, Marlena Biadała-Domino and the head of the local government offices, Mrs. Aneta Kucharzyk, awarded the main prize to Mateusz Głąbicki from PCKZiU in Jawor.
