Axel Bense

CEO

Axel joined the then DaimlerChrysler AG in the Bremen plant in 1999 as a graduate process engineer. He has already held various managerial positions at Mercedes-Benz AG in Germany, United States, Russia and Thailand locations. Most recently Axel has been responsible for the Charleston plant within Mercedes-Benz Vans organization.As of March 1, 2025, he took over the position of the CEO of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland sp. z o. o.. In his free time he likes to travel.

dr Andreas Haufe

COO

Dr. Andreas Haufe began his career at Mercedes-Benz in 1999 after completing his university studies and working as a consultant at the Technical University of Aachen and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has already held various managerial positions at Mercedes-Benz AG, including in assembly at the Rastatt plant, as the General Manager of Star Transmission in Romania, where he initiated the development of the Sebeş plant, as head of inline engine production in Stuttgart and Beijing, and in various cross-functional positions in Powertrain.

Dirk Fleischmann

CFO

He graduated in industrial engineering at the Technical University Berlin. In 1998 he started his career at Mercedes-Benz in Ludwigsfelde.  Afterwards, he was working in several different managerial positions in Finance & Controlling in Germany, South Africa and Russia. In 2019 he took over the function as CFO Mercedes-Benz Vans LLC in Charleston, where he had an impact on transforming the site from the ramp-up phase into regular operations. In October 2023 he joined the Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland as Chief Financial Officer. In his free time, he likes to do sports and to travel around the world.

Ewa Korwek

HR Director, Member of the Management Board

A graduate of German philology as well as business coach and human resources postgraduate studies. She began her career as a radio and newspaper journalist. She has worked in the automotive industry for nearly 20 years and is a co-creator of AutoForum. Her work experience includes positions such as Public Relation Manager in Volkswagen Motor Polska, HR Director in Sitech, and HR Manager in Lear Corporation. She is a lecturer at postgraduate studies, including the WSB, and a coach cooperating with Significa and IHK, among others. Her interests include the impact of national cultures on organisational cultures. Previously she worked as a HR Management Director in Relpol S.A. – a company which produces electromagnetic relays. Former competitive basketball player, today she plays tennis as a hobby.
